Prince Harry The Duke Of Sussex

Prince Harry the Duke of Sussex, is a member of the British royal family. He is the second son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and the late Diana, Princess of Wales. He is 6th in line for the British throne.

After leaving school, he spent a year in Australia and Africa. In 2004, he started preparing for the Regular Commission Board (RCB) exams and passed. In May 2005, he joined Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to begin his training as an Army Officer. And in April the following year, he held the certificate of this rank. He also owned the position of Captain in The Household Cavalry ( Blues and Royals) and began training as an Army Air Corps Helicopter Pilot.

In early 2008, he served with NATO forces in Afghanistan and co-founded the charity Sentebale to help children in Lesotho. He is also the founder of Invictus Games, an event for the wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women.

In 2018, before his wedding to American actress and model Meghan Markle, he was recognized as the Duke of Sussex. In January 2020, the couple resigned as the senior member of the royal family and moved to Southern California, the Duchess’s hometown. Now they have a son Archie and a daughter Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Early Life of Prince Harry 

Prince Harry was born on September 15, 1984, in Westminister city London, England as the second child of Charles and Diana. Diana wanted Harry and his elder brother Prince William to experience the world beyond royal privilege. Therefore, she took them to public transport and fast-food restaurants and lined up with them at Disney World.

Diana also took her two sons with her when visiting homeless shelters, orphanages, and hospitals. He used to go on official trips with his parents at an early age. His first foreign trip was to Italy in 1985 with his parents. His parents separated and divorced in 1996. Diana died in a Car Crash that had a profound impact on Harry. 

Education

Like his brother William, Prince Harry attended private schools like Wetherby School and Ludgrove School before entering prestigious Eton College. Here he completed his education with two A-Levels. He also joined the Combined Cadet Force during his studies at eaten and was made cadet officer in his final year. 

After graduation, Prince Harry visited Argentina and Africa and worked on a cattle station in Australia as a jackaroo. He also participated in Young England versus Young Australia Polo Test match. Then he traveled to Lesotho to work with orphaned children and produced the documentary film “The Forgotten Kingdom”. 

Military Career

Prince Harry entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to begin his army training and carried the rank of an officer in 2006. After two years, on 13 Aprile 2008, he promotion to lieutenant. 

In October 2008, Prince Harry followed his brother Williams and learned to fly military helicopters at Defence Helicopter Flying School at RAF Shawbury. In 2012, the army deployed him to Afghanistan, where he served as a Helicopter Pilot and attained the rank of Captain, and left active service in 2015. 

Social Activism and Invictus games

Harry was active in wildlife conservation in Africa. He helped found a charity for children in Lesotho, dedicating his mother, Diana. Harry and William held a memorial service to mark the anniversary of Diana’s death. After being impressed by the warrior games for veterans, Harry founded the Invictus Games for injured and sick veterans. 

Marriage to Meghan Markle

In May 2018, harry married an American actress Meghan Markle, the daughter of an African American mother and white father. The marriage was unlike any previous royal wedding held in the medieval St George’s Chaple at Windsor Castle. After a year, in May 2019, they had their first child, a baby boy named Archie Harrison, who was seventh in line to the throne.

The couple, whose alliance reflects the changing social landscape of a growing multicultural Britain, appear determined to modernize the monarchy and integrate it into everyday British life. 

In January 2020, Harry and Meghan declared that they would step back from their royal positions and decided to divide their time between UK & North America. On June 4, 2021, they had a daughter Lilibet, the honored Harry’s mother and Grandmother.
